Brissy Electrical & Air Conditioning we install or replace items that are no longer considered covered by the new regulations, for example: All new properties need to have RCD protection on all final sub-circuits in the home that protects the consumer in the event of a failure in any outlet or device.

The most recent change in regulations relates to the Type AC RCBO circuit protection which has been banned since April 2023 due to its inability to detect certain electrical fault currents involving DC components commonly generated by modern appliances like LED lights, solar inverters, aircon inverters and EV chargers. A Type A RCBO is specifically designed to detect both AC and DC fault current ( photo to reference if your switchboard is compliant.

If you upgraded post April 2023, the circuit protection should be compliant in accordance with new regulations.
